“Henry the Contemplative Robot” is a Folk Art Automaton or Kinetic Sculpture. When you turn his crank, gears, cams and levers move that are connected to strings that are connected to smaller levers inside of his body that make his arms and head move. He appears to be studying his hand, contemplating his existence.”
